As the 3:45 and 4:30 call times close in for transportation and seating at CBS Television City, home of the American Idol soundstage where the TOP 12 finalists for the 11th season will soon be selected, a tempest is currently boiling over in the world of the TWITTER teapot between AMERICAN IDOL'S creative force and executive producer Nigel Lythgoe and NEWSCORP COO Chase Carey, who dissed IDOL's recent fluctuating ratings to investors recently.
Lythgoe unloaded, to put it succintly, on Carey via his TWITTER account:
“Maybe if the COO bothers to watch #IDOL tonight he may give us a little more support in the future. Certainly more than he gave us today!!!”
To know Lythgoe means you know he's one of the fiercest competitors in entertainment, and for him to fire a shot in front of the world via a social network means only amazing things for fans.
In short, buckle up, because for Lythgoe, this just got personal... which means he's going to pull out all the stops to create some amazing television while brewing a cup of STFU for his "haters" at NewsCorp who dissed him.
